SANI MUAZU | GOVERNOR IDRIS SANI

A former National President of Motion Picture Practitioners; Association of Nigeria, a pioneer member of the steering committee for Motion Picture Council of Nigeria, Sani Mu’azu is graduate of Mass Communication from the University of Jos and an alumnus of the Nigerian Institute of Journalism, Lagos.
Sani did some training as a student of Film at Edinburg College of Arts, Scotland. He also studied Digital Filmmaking from the New York Film Academy/Del York. He holds a certificate on  Dialogue and Mediation from WAPI and the Kofi Anan Int. Peacekeeping Centre, Ghana.

Born in Jos in 1960, Sani Mu'azu is a household name by working consistently on Nigeria's Television, Radio and Film Industry for over three decades. Sani Mu'azu wrote, Produced, Directed and Acted in several projects in and outside Nigeria including ‘Behind the Clouds', ‘Shadows', ‘Mr Johnson’ and ‘Riddles and Hopes'. ‘Hafsah' another feature film he produced for BBC World Service Trust won 3 AMAA nominations, making it the only Hausa Film to achieve that fit in Nigeria.

Awards and Recognitions: Peace Ambassador Special Recognition Award by Catholic Youths
Organization, Plateau State, The Golden Deeds Award on Excellence in Film Production and Plateau Man
of the Year Award, 2016. He is a recipient of the prestigious "Stars in the Movies Award” as well as the
"Nollywood Personality Award" NOPA. He represented Africa at the British Council's Arts Consultative Meeting in London in 2006. He was at Cannes International Film Festival, France, and Shitengi International Film Festival, Cape Town, South Africa. He is a member, Directors Guild of Nigeria, DGN and Independent Producers Association of Nigeria ITPAN. He is a media consultant and the Managing Director and CEO of Lenscope Media, Jos. Sani Muazu is married with 3 children, 2 boys and a girl.
